Hollywood's Twentieth Century Fox is working on a prequel to the 1979 film Alien with Ridley Scott set to return to the director's chair. Variety.com said science-fiction screenwriter Jon Spaihts has been hired to pen the prequel, while Scott's Scott Free production company will produce the movie.
