Chinese officials said a gas explosion at a Yunnan province coal mine killed one person, injured another and left four more trapped underground. A local government spokesman said rescue efforts were under way to free the four people trapped by the Tuesday blast at Hengda Coal Mine in the southwest part of the country, Xinhua, China's official government-run news agency, reported. The spokesman said the injured person was taken to a hospital.
