A young Colorado man whose dog was found wrapped in packing tape and fastened to the refrigerator has surrendered the animal. The Humane Society of Boulder Valley has temporary custody of Rex, a 2-year-old Shiba Inu, The Daily Camera reported.

The Shiba Inu is the smallest of the six originally Japanese dog breeds. The breed was originally bred for hunting in mountainous terrain.
