The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Nordica USA XBi ALU skis due to a potential fall hazard. The binding plates on the skis can crack or break, posing a hazard to skiers, the commission said. About 4,500 pairs of the skis, made in Italy for Nordica USA of West Lebanon, N.H., were sold nationwide between August 2006 and December 2008 for $800-$1,500.
