German-born American actress Susan Blakely has joined the cast of the NBC drama series Southland, her representatives said Tuesday. Blakely was a Golden Globe Award winner and Emmy nominee for her work in the mini-series Rich Man, Poor Man. She has been signed by executive producers John Welles, Ann Biderman and Christopher Chulack to play the mother of Officer Ben Sherman, played by Benjamin McKenzie, said Jaffe & Co., Inc.
