Summer Squall, winner of the 1990 Preakness Stakes and sire of 1999 Horse of the Year Charismatic, was euthanized Tuesday, his former owners said. The 22-year-old thoroughbred was put down at Lane's Farm near Versailles, Ky., because of complications of old age and foundering, Dogwood Stable of Aiken, S.C., said in a release.
