An inspection of the main suspension cables on the Tamar Bridge will be carried out over the next two months. The internal inspection of the cables started yesterday and is part of planned maintenance work. The bridge's main cables are made from 31 locked coil wire ropes, each 60mm in diameter, and the overall diameter of the main cable is about 380mm. Arnold Schwarzenegger to sign it into law.
