The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Thane International steam cleaners due to shock and burn hazards. About 580,000 steam cleaners were imported from China by Thane International Inc. of La Quinta, Calif., and sold through television infomercials and through the companies Web site between June 2007 and December 2008 for about $100.
