The original recall involved safety pegs that were missing that could possibly cause child entrapment and suffocation, Reuters reports. On Thursday, the government recalled thousands of Simplicity and Graco cribs, claiming that babies could suffocate in them. The Consumer Product Safety Commission said the recall was linked to at least one death and involved thousands of cribs, possibly hundreds of thousands, although many had been recalled previously due to other defects.  The agency said that 217,000 Graco dropside cribs made by LaJobi were also part of the recall. The problem with both the Simplicity and Graco cribs...

An incident of the pins dropping out would then create a dangerous gap between the drop side and the mattress. The...

The cribs, imported by Suntech Enterprises Inc. of City of Commerce, Calif., include mesh sides that can leave a gap between the crib's side and the mattress, creating an area that could trap and suffocate a young child, the commission said in a statement. About 1,900 of the cribs were sold in New York, New Jersey and California for about $100 each...

By Tom Venesky, The Times Leader, Wilkes-Barre, Pa. Jul. 27--KINGSTON TOWNSHIP -- On the surface, the crib-like structures don't look like much -- nothing more than a series of two-by-two hemlock boards nailed together to form a pyramid shape. But below the surface -- underneath the water, the structures called porcupine four-by-four cribs provide crucial habitat for fish on the mostly barren bottom of Frances Slocum Lake. On Thursday, 20 members of the Nanticoke Conservation Club...

The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall of 24,000 Indonesian-made cribs, after noting an increased risk of children falling out. The recalled products, imported by Munire Furniture Inc., include Majestic Curved Top, Majestic Flat Top, Essex, Brighton/Sussex and Captiva cribs sold between November 2005 and November 2007.
