Blessed with a tour-de-force performance from Anna Faris as a Playboy bunny with a heart of gold, Fred Wolf's feel-good comedy promotes messages of solidarity and individualism in the face of peer pressure. Film-making is always a collaborative effort, relying on the blissful union of director, screenwriter, cast and dozens of unsung heroes behind the scenes. However, The House Bunny succeeds solely because of its leading lady. The screenplay by Karen McCullah Lutz and Kirsten Smith is...

By DAVID EDWARDS After being evicted from Hugh Hefner's mansion, a hapless Playboy bunny puts the T&A into college sorority house Zeta in a lame comedy starring Scary Movie veteran Anna Faris. Like a glamour model's bra, it's a pink, fluffy thing stuffed to bursting not with silicone, but absolutely every chick-flick cliche imaginable. Shame someone forgot to pack in any actual humour. Our bubble-headed heroine is Shelley (Faris) whose dreams of becoming the next Miss January come...

The House BUNNY (12A) Blessed with a tour-de-force performance from Anna Faris as a Playboy bunny with a heart of gold, Fred Wolf's feel-good comedy promotes messages of solidarity and individualism in the face of peer pressure. Faris, a one-woman comic dynamo reminiscent of a young Goldie Hawn, is tricked into leaving Hugh Hefner's mansion but lands the position of house mother to a sorority group threatened with closure. The film is a harmless piece of comic fluff that tickles our fancy...

By Jessica Yadegaran In the romantic comedy "Nick and Norah's Infinite Play- list," Michael Cera and Kat Dennings are musical soul mates thrust together on a crazy Manhattan night that involves dramatic exes, an underground concert and way too much parking karma. It's "High Fidelity" for teens, and Cera's their Cusack. At 20, the Canadian actor already has the resume for such comparisons. To many of us, he's George Michael Bluth, the awkward, approval-hungry adolescent from Fox's...

By Hallie Woodward In Columbia's newest release "The House Bunny," Shelley is living in the Playboy Mansion. At the ripe age of 27 years, she suddenly finds herself out of the mansion and on the steps of the world of academia. OK, actually, it's on the steps of Zeta House, where the residents all look nerdy and bookish. The film's storyline has Shelley teaching the frumpy sorority sisters how to do their make-up, dress, flirt and party. And Shelley learns how to date a real man, not a...
