The active hurricane season could get even busier due to the strengthening of the La Nina climate system, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) said in an update on Thursday. The update comes as Texas residents are cleaning up from the flooding rains that swept through from Tropical Storm Hermine. Tropical Storm Hermine formed very quickly yesterday in the very warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico, and northeastern Mexico and southeastern Texas are now bearing the brunt of the storm. The National Hurricane Center has issued a hurricane watch for the coasts of Texas and Mexico as Tropical Storm Hermine approaches. The watched has been issued to the areas from Rio San Fernando, Mexico, northward to Baffin Bay in Texas. The current tropical storm system has a maximum speed of 50 mph.  The storm is expected to gain momentum and approach hurricane strength before hitting the coasts.
