Beloved Tapirs Thrive In South America’s National Parks

A group of scientists has documented a thriving population of South America's beloved lowland tapirs living in a network of remote national parks spanning the Peru-Bolivia border.

Botanists at the Missouri Botanical Garden have described eight new plant species collected in the Madidi National Park and surrounding areas located on the eastern slopes of the Andes in northern Bolivia.
