Scientists said Monday that torrents of water are pouring from a glacier that sits on Iceland's most active volcano, which indicates that the mountain is growing hotter and may be erupting soon.
Grímsvötn is an active subglacial volcano that is located in southeast highlands of Iceland. This volcano reaches an elevation of 5,659 feet and is located in the northwestern side of the Vatnajökull ice-cap. It is comprised of basaltic lava and has the highest frequency of eruptions of any volcano in Iceland.
