Garrett Mock worked six innings Friday, and four relievers paraded to the mound to complete a shutout, bringing Washington a 2-0 win over Cincinnati. The Nationals snapped a three-game losing streak and won for the ninth time in 12 games. Mock (2-4) won his second straight start, striking out six, walking four and allowing six hits.

Craig Stammen got his first big league win Thursday and the Washington Nationals got a near-perfect effort from its bullpen to blank the New York Yankees 3-0. After a rain delay of almost five hours, the Nationals managed to put together their first two-game winning streak since early May.
