Police in Florida said a suspicious package that sparked a bomb squad call turned out to contain a living cat. Orange County Sheriff's deputies said they responded to a call about a suspicious package Thursday shortly after 11 a.m. and discovered an 18-gallon plastic container in the driveway of a home, WKMG-TV, Orlando, Fla., reported Friday. A Florida school began classes 90 minutes late Tuesday because officials were struggling to open doors that had been glued shut by teenagers. Nancy Wait of Volusia County Public Schools said a surveillance video recorded three teenagers gluing the doors of Pine Ridge High School in Deltona shut overnight and officials are working to identify the culprits, WKMG-TV, Orlando, Fla., reported Tuesday. Wait said the incident is not believed to have been a senior prank.

Rescuers in Florida say an autistic boy and his father survived 15 hours in shark-infested waters before the U.S. Coast Guard spotted them. Chris Marino, 12, was swimming near the Ponce de Leon Inlet in Central Florida when the current carried him away, WKMB-TV in Orlando, Fla., reported Monday.
