BYU Engineers Study How Waves Impact Weather, Atmosphere

Why are weather predictions often wrong? BYU engineering professor Julie Crockett pinpoints forecasting’s x-factor in new research. According to Crockett, forecasters make mistakes because the models they use for predicting weather can’t accurately track highly influential elements called internal waves in the atmosphere and in the ocean.
