Columbus Control Centre inauguration on 19 October 2004

The Columbus Control Centre, located in Oberpfaffenhofen, near Munich, in Germany, was inaugurated on 19 October 2004. The Centre will control and monitor the European Columbus module once it becomes an integral part of the ISS. Its main functions will be to command and control the laboratory’s systems, to coordinate operations for the European experiment payloads on board the ISS and to operate the European Ground Communication network.
