Velcro-Like Nanoparticles Mend Broken Hearts
With support from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Clemson researchers have developed nanoparticles that can deliver drugs targeting damaged arteries, a non-invasive method to fight heart disease. The researchers, led by Naren Vyavahare, professor at Clemson’s Department of Bioengineering, hope their advanced nanoparticles could be used alongside vascular stents, or in lieu of them.
